Fabrick and Mouchel Volunteers Dig in to Help Stockton School

Pupils at a Stockton school will benefit from the volunteered support of Fabrick Housing Group to enhance their garden area. Around 20 people from Fabrick and its partner for the project, consultancy group Mouchel, volunteered as part of Give & Gain Day, Business in the Community’s annual day of action for employee volunteering sponsored by Eversheds.

Westlands School, in Eltham Crescent, Thornaby, will benefit from the makeover of the garden area, which included general tidying, repairing of seats and removal of shrubs.

The work at Westlands School was one of over 180 projects that received support from over 180 companies and 3,600 volunteers. Of the projects receiving support on Give & Gain Day, 24 were community events, which will enhance facilities that serve over 20,000 people nationally.

Paul Fiddaman, Fabrick’s Group Finance Director, said: “As members of Business in the Community, we wanted to do something which would make a real difference to people who need the help of those who are able to give it. We decided to invite Mouchel along as partners in the work and really help Westlands School create a better environment in which their pupils can relax.”

“We applaud the efforts of the businesses participating on Give & Gain Day as these companies have made a visible and valuable difference in society at a time when it has never been more important,” said Stephen Howard, Chief Executive, Business in the Community.
