Help for Homebuyers Makes it a Good Time2Buy
A LEG up on to the property ladder is being offered to people across the Tees Valley and County Durham thanks to a specialist new website.
From today, the Time2Buy site will be featured on giant adverts on buses running across the area in a major campaign aiming to help more people buy a home of their own.
The Time2Buy website has been launched by a new expert team aiming to make home ownership more affordable for people throughout the area.
In the current credit crunch, Time2Buy offers a range of affordable home ownership options on a variety of different developments across the whole of the area.
The team has £16m this year to allocate to local people, who may not need a deposit to be able to get onto the property ladder.
The new website means people who think they may not be able to afford a home can find out about choices within their means and even search for available properties in an area, or built by a developer of their choice.
The Time2Buy team, a consortium made up of Fabrick Housing Group, Stockton Borough Council, Housing Hartlepool and Endeavour Housing Association, brings together a wide range of experience and skills in enabling people to get a foot on the ladder or buy a home appropriate for their needs.
The Time2Buy consortium was chosen as an agent to deliver the Government’s HomeBuy schemes across County Durham and Tees Valley from 2009 to 2011.
HomeBuy is a Government initiative aimed at helping first time buyers, those re-entering the housing market, and households renting from a private landlord, a housing association or a council.
Time2Buy will now be a first point of contact for anyone who cannot afford to buy a home on the open market, first establishing whether applicants meet eligibility criteria before assessing their financial circumstances to ensure that they can afford home ownership in the longer term.
Fully trained team members can help explain the range of schemes available, whether people are eligible to buy a property and how to apply.
Susie Thompson, Group Director of Operations at Fabrick Housing Group, said:
“In current times people may need some specialist help to get onto the property ladder and that’s exactly what Time2Buy can offer. There is a product out there for everyone.”
Councillor Steve Nelson, Stockton Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing and Community Safety, said: “This is a fantastic initiative. Not only will it give much needed financial help to local people trying to get on the property ladder, it will also stimulate our local housing market and create jobs in the construction industry to help kick start the economy. The Time2Buy website offers a wealth of information and advice, so take a look because you may be eligible to apply for the scheme.”
Time2Buy can be accessed at www.time2buy.org.uk or by ringing 0845 6042942.
