Fabrick Housing Group Nominated for Three Awards

Fabrick Housing Group has been shortlisted for three major awards at national and regional level, including one for a major development in North Ormesby.

The UK Housing Awards has shortlisted Fabrick, the umbrella organisation for Tees Valley Housing and Erimus Housing, for the Trinity development in North Ormesby. The Trinity development is a key regeneration project that has involved a neighbourhood management project, new community facilities including a medical centre and a childcare nursery.

The regeneration project has led to an increase in residents' perceptions of the area as well as delivering a number of key physical features to North Ormesby. It has resulted in a rise in jobs and improved health and housing issues as well as boosting commercial development.

Fabrick has also been nominated for the Constructing Excellence Yorkshire and Humber Awards, for Client of the Year.

Erimus Housing has received further recognition, being nominated for a Regeneration and Renewal Award for the Housing-led Project of the Year for the Hemlington master plan.

The Hemlington master plan has seen regeneration projects undertaken converting flats into houses for both sale and shared ownership.

Millions of pounds is being spent modernising properties, boosting the environment and undertaking selective demolition on the most unpopular estates, as well as converting some properties to family homes, some of which are for sale.

Alison Thain, chief executive of Fabrick Housing Group, said: “These nominations are recognition of the high calibre work we undertake. To be nominated for a national housing award at a time when the construction industry has slowed is very positive and it shows our determination to improve the quality of living for people as far north as Newcastle, and as far south as York.
