Time2Buy is Right on Cue
CUSTOMERS have heaped praise on a vital scheme offering people a leg up on to the property ladder after it reached a special milestone.
Time2Buy, a specialist team offering affordable home ownership options to people across the Tees Valley and County Durham, has proved a success after helping more than 100 people become home owners since its launch in spring 2009.
Marc Bould was one of the first 100 people to be helped into home ownership by the Time2Buy team, which helps both first time buyers and those returning to the housing market through a choice of affordable options.
The dad of two, who works for Stockton Council, now has a new home on the Farriers Park development in Stockton under HomeBuy Direct, which offers up to 30 per cent assistance towards the purchase price of a property at over 50 new developments across the Tees Valley and County Durham.
He said: “I had never given any thought to such a scheme before, however, when I spoke with the Time2Buy team I realised it was something I had to pursue. Two months later I was cracking open a beer in my new home!”
“My sons love it, we’ve even managed to squeeze in a pool table so it’s a real boys pad! I can’t believe the house I have got and it’s all down to HomeBuy Direct and Time2Buy.”
Time2Buy offers a range of affordable home ownership options on a variety of different developments across the whole of the Tees Valley and County Durham area.
The Time2Buy website means people who think they may not be able to afford a home can find out about choices within their means, such as HomeBuy Direct or shared ownership, and even search for available properties in an area, or built by a developer of their choice.
The Time2Buy team, a consortium made up of Fabrick Housing Group, Stockton Borough Council, Housing Hartlepool and Endeavour Housing Association, was chosen as an agent to deliver the Government’s HomeBuy schemes across County Durham and Tees Valley from 2009 to 2011.
HomeBuy is a Government initiative aimed at helping first time buyers, those re-entering the housing market, and households renting from a private landlord, a housing association or a council.
Time2Buy is a first point of contact for anyone who cannot afford to buy a home on the open market.
Fully trained team members can help explain the range of schemes available, whether people are eligible to buy a property and how to apply.
Susie Thompson, Group Director of Operations at Fabrick Housing Group, said:
“We are thrilled to have helped more than 100 people and their families into home ownership. Time2Buy is a vital tool to help people on to the property ladder, especially in the current financial climate, and reaching this milestone shows there is a product out there for everyone.”
Time2Buy can be accessed at www.time2buy.org.uk or by ringing 0845 6042942.
